HORTICULTURE PROFILE
IRIS
Louisiana irises can be divided and transplanted anytime from August through early October. Unlike most plants, Louisiana irises are at their most dormant stage in the late summer making now the ideal time to divide them.
You may notice many brown or yellow leaves on your plants now. Even if you decide you do not need to divide them this year, it's a good idea to get in and clean out the unattractive foliage before the new growth starts. This will make the planting more attractive. |
