District VI
CIRCLE OF ROSES
Ms. Diane Dufour, LGCF District VI Director, came to Bogalusa to
induct Northeast Garden Club member, Mary Anthony, into the Louisiana
Garden Club Federation's Circle of Roses. Ms. Dufour Presented Mrs.
Anthony with the official Certificate of Membership into the Circle of
Roses, a Pin and a lovely bouquet of Roses and also told us a bit about
activities and plans in District VI. The Circle of Roses is open to
treasured collection of ladies who have generously served their clubs,
their communities, and the State Federation of Garden Clubs through the
years. Mary Anthony has certainly earned a place within that elite
circle.
Mrs. Margaret Ryals, the President of Magic City Garden Council was
there to congratulate Mary Anthony; sadly, Mrs. Minnie Posey, President
of Washington Parish Garden Council, was unable to attend but Mrs.
Posey sent Mrs. Billie Sue Alford as her representative. Many members
from all three of Bogalusa's garden clubs, Southeast Garden Club,
Northeast Garden Club, and Garden Guild Garden Club, were also present
to celebrate Mary's special honor.
Mrs. Kathryn Martin, President of Northeast Garden Club, presided
at the meeting, introduced Diane Dufour , and presented Mary Anthony
with a small gift from Northeast Garden Club to remind her of this
special day. It was great fun to gather with so many members of all our
Bogalusa Garden Clubs and a special treat to have our hard working,
District VI Director, Ms. Diane Dufour, with us!
