TWILIGHT GARDENERS
SPECIAL COMMUNITY AWARD
Date: March 08, 2007
PRESS RELEASE
Virginia Gaudet and Stephanie Dieterich, chairwomen of Twilight Gardeners' Special Community Award, have announced
the group's latest award winner.
Gaudet encouraged all to stop in front of 524 Amelia and see the transformation
that has taken place. The property was once home to such businesses as
Hebee's Bakery Warehouse, the UPS office, Mardi Gras Productions and Crescent
City Tents. The building looked like an old warehouse.
Now, the building is owned by Richard Young, who is responsible for the mural painted to look like an old neighborhood. Gaudet said that Young plans to paint the Sixth Street side with trees. Gaudet said that Young has been renovating houses in the McDonoghville area for years, and he is "delighted to be in old Gretna." We are delighted you are here, too. Congratulations on winning the Twilight Gardeners Special Community Award.
