• Develop a greater sense of appreciation, pride, and knowledge about our private and public gardens.

• Become better educated to make changes in our surroundings so that they will be more beautiful, useful, convenient, ecologically sound, and easily maintained.

• Stimulate interest in all phases of landscape design, including community planning, that will affect all our lives.

• Develop a large number of qualified Landscape Design Consultants to serve in such decision-making areas of public life as providing leadership, educational programs, scholarships, awards, and promoting better landscape design.
Who May Participate?
All garden club members are encouraged to attend the Landscape Design Courses which provides some practical training in Landscape Design. The general public as well as professionals are welcomed.

Information

The Program starts at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Box lunches will be provided for a nominal fee if requested. Reading for Course III: textbook, "Stewards of the Land, A Survey of Landscape Architecture and Design in America" and articles which appear in 'The National Gardener' - read "Landscape Design Angle". Both reading materials can be ordered from the National Council of State Garden Clubs, Inc. Catalog, 4401 Magnolia Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110-3492.
