WHERE TO FIND YOUTH GROUPS
Perhaps the largest group of young people can be found in the local school classrooms. Contact a school principal and request permission to talk with a teacher who might like to help you start a youth Club. Science teachers are already do most of the work that a Youth Garden Club would be interested in. Find a good one and you have the beginning of a whole new experience. Presenting butterfly gardening or Louisiana native plant programs are both interesting and easy ways to work within a school system.
1.
Consult a church concerning the use of their facilities as a source of membership and a meeting place.
2.
Neighborhood children love to form clubs. Try a Sum~ Club or a Saturday Club. Why not a -Grandchildren Club- - remember only four members are needed. Think what Fun!
3.
Work with already established groups such as 4-H, Scouts, and community recreation centers. They can also be a Garden Club.
