Forever Loved and Eternally Missed

Jean Gilstrap's son, 37-year-old Gregory W. Gilstrap, was killed in a car accident in Florida on Friday, August 24, 2007. He was with his wife, Staci Denise, his two year old son, and his daughter who was born on the 8th of this month. The others were not seriously injured.

Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 30, from 5 to 8 at Rowland Road Church in Monroe. The funeral will be Friday morning at 10:00 at the church.

Bayou DeSiard Garden Club held a recent meeting in the lovely lake home of Jean Gilstrap. A special gourmet lunch was prepared by her son Chef Brad Gilstrap who flew in from Alabany for the occasion. He prepared grouper and artichoke over rice pilaf, grilled asparagus, green salad with strawberries with vinaigrette dressing, and an assortment of desserts. Afterwards installation of officers was conducted by Joyce Greer, of Farmerville Garden Club.

The NEW OFFICERS are president Jean Gilstrap, vice president Margie Whitlock, recording secretary Pauline Irvin, corresponding secretary Margaret Westbrook, treasurer Terri Fassett and parliamentarian Jane Schlatter.

Among those attending were Jean Gilstrap, Wynona Wilson, Cristi McRight, Eloise Barham, Deborah Brown, Terri Fassett, Kay Hood, Pauline Irvin, Brook Regan, Lavinia Johnson, Elizabeth Statham, Molly King and many more.
