President's Meeting

The District III Presidents' meeting
was held on June 4, at the Bayou Country Club in Thibodaux
with an attendance of 61. The theme was Summertime Travel
with Gardens in Mind. The members were armchair travelers
who traveled through the 13 garden clubs in the district,
travelled to the Missouri Botanical Gardens by a lecture
and slide presentation by Dr. Alex Lasseigne, Professor,
Biological Sciences at Nicholls State University, and
ending with a short trilp to the Edwin H. Chiasson Memorial
Park for a ceremony to dedicate a Blue Star Memorial
By-way Marker and to Adopt-the-Park. The park is named
after the father of Stella Lasseigne, District III Director.
Donna Bucci, Deep South and LGCF Arboriculture Chairman
and Dorothy Barrow, LGCF Adopt-A-Park Chairman gave
reports as well as the Presidents.
