Fourth Gardening Study Course

The fourth course in the Gardening Study Courses will be held January 28-29, 2005 (Friday and Saturday) at Delgado Community College Horticulture Department. The brochure that was given out in the fall stated that the last day to register without a late fee was January 2. Since I only have two checks so far we have deleted that late fee date. Please get your checks to me soon though so we can plan the course refreshments, etc.

Send $55.00 ($50.00 for the course fee and $5.00 for the testing fee which goes to NGC).

Make the check payable to Gardening Study Courses.
Send to Ann Cooksey, 2528 Eton St., New Orleans, LA 70131-3838

Required reading is chapters 6 and 9 of Living With Plants.
Topics for this course are:
Outdoor Identification of Plants
Techniques for Growing Fruit
Techniques for Growing Woody Ornamentals
Specialized Styles of Gardening, such as Organic and Greenhouse Gardening
Growing Plants Under Lights
and a supplemental subject.

The Federated Council of New Orleans Garden Club meeting and Arbor Day is also on the 28th. I have talked to all concerned (Mary Jacobs, Rinny Cousins and Jo Ann Holcomb) and they have agreed to have the Supplemental Subject for Gardening Study first and to have the Arbor Day ceremony and any reports by Gardening Study students first at the Council meeting. So..... those of us who need to be in two places at one time can do so!

Call or email me if you have any questions. I will get the outlines to you as soon as I get them from Delgado.
Happy New Year!
Ann
